One of the greatest losses to a community, a country or the world is when a young person decides to end their own life. Their potential to make a contribution to society is lost forever.
Since 1996 S. P. Hein has been interested in youth suicide prevention. His experience with youth from around the world has taught him much about the needs, in particular the emotional needs, of young people. Hein believes that with a better understanding of cause and effect relationships between our emotional needs and the rest of our lives, we can both prevent youth suicide and improve society in general.
